The scale is not a reliable indicator

August 15, 2025

Weight... it is generally the one and only indicator that many (too) people focus on when evaluating their progress... The problem is that by itself, it is far from being a reliable indicator.???? The scale can be useful in some cases yes, and when used intelligently and for specific purposes, but in general, it is not very necessary... unless you like to be paranoid...?????
This number on your scale can be influenced by a lot of things.Examples: ➡️ Distribution of the food bolus: what you eat and what is still in circulation in your body (or not).???? ➡️ The stools???? ➡️ Water variations (cf. water retention influenced by stress, diet, menstruation, etc.): you therefore understand that if you eat 1kg of raclette cheese with dried meat, you will certainly have a little more water retained inside your body; and water well... it weighs! ???? ➡️ The moment of your weighing ⏰➡️ The precision of your scale ➡️ The gain in muscle mass?????????
⁉️ And in the end, what do you prefer? Do you see the number on your scale decrease or appreciate your reflection in the mirror more and more (cf. fat loss, muscle gain)? ???????? ‍ ♀️
So focus on more relevant indicators: - Measurements ✅ Photos???? (always in the same place, from the same angles, with the same luminosity; preferably in the morning, after going to the bathroom) ✅ How you feel (as much in your clothes as in your digestion, your sleep, your sleep, your skin, your energy, etc.) ✅ Plier tweezers
